Meet the Staff
Samantha and McKenna founded Lilypad Early Learning Center in December 2023. Together we have over 25 years of experience with children 6 weeks to 12 years old. We both have a passion for early education and are excited to foster a relationship with your children!
I’m McKenna
Early education is my passion. You’ll usually find me elbow-deep in a sensory bin, covered in paint from a messy art project, or giggling alongside the kiddos during circle time. I love every stage of early childhood, but toddlers have completely stolen my heart. Known as the local toddler whisperer, I find so much joy in helping them grow, explore, and feel deeply seen at such a pivotal age.Outside the classroom, I find inspiration in the world around me. Chasing the northern lights, creating art, or diving into film. I’m also grounded by the love of my family and friends, who fill my cup and remind me why I do what I do.

Teaching isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. I believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing space where they can feel seen, heard, and celebrated for exactly who they are. My mission is to create learning environments where curiosity is encouraged, emotions are honored, and every child feels like they belong.
Outside the classroom, I find peace in nature—whether I’m hiking Minnesota’s beautiful state parks, camping under the stars, or soaking in time with my family. These moments ground me and recharge the love I pour into my work each day.
